Our basic obedience training is designed to provide the fundamental necessities for any dog. We provide the real-world results, like leash training, that form the foundation of any advanced training. But what does that entail?
Basic obedience training covers gaining attention and following basic commands. We teach your dog to sit, stay, get down, come, place, and release. In addition, we teach them to heel, meaning to walk alongside you and change their pace as needed.
These basic obedience requirements are taught in a controlled environment until the dog clearly understands how to obey all of them. After they learn the meaning of the commands, we introduce distractions to ensure they obey, even in the presence of factors like other people, dogs, traffic, and more. The last step is called “resistance training”, which teaches your dog to obey a given command even under pressure to disobey applied from other factors.
All advanced dog training relies on the basics. That’s why we start with an evaluation followed by basic training. This is where we go through the foundations of obedience, management, and care. If a puppy recently joined your family, this is the first step.
Advanced obedience training enables dogs to become reliably obedient. It also sets them up for more advanced and professional training courses. Our experience with advanced obedience enables dogs to understand peoples’ needs and do what they’re told faster.
We adapt to you and your dog’s needs. Depending on your schedule and the training needs of your dog, we offer training at your home or in group sessions. For more comprehensive service, we also offer board.
